My cover art for Martin Rodoreda’s debut book, Salvage was commissioned by Odyssey Books Australia.

To depict Salvage’s world where excessive mining, human pollution and war have left the earth devastated and virtually uninhabitable, I merged three separate hand drawings, including a crumbling cityscape, cracked earth and the lead character, Silver. I used muted colours – almost black and white – to convey the near-lifeless existence, and some ‘red dirt’ (created digitally) to add a sense of drama.
